Viernes - Entire Empire
It won’t win many awards for lyrical ingenuity but this little beauty has made someone hung up on that early 90’s sound quite happy this evening. It takes some time to pick a bit of steam but once the, admittedly enjoyable, noodling is out of the way ‘Entire Empire’ becomes a free flowing stream of shoegaze thumping consciousness. The duo behind it, Alberto Hernandez and Sean Moore, come for Florida and one can only imagine the fogged raybans were this given the open top platform it deserves. The vocals are pretty and ably bolster the breezy and memorable chord sequence. One hopes this will be heard all around the world in less than, say, 80 days. KD
