Into Paradise - Yesterday's Men

Take a look about for Into Paradise and you’ll eventually end back at their label Setanta. Sadly the shutters have long since come down on their back catalogue and the sold out signs have been replaced by deleted ones. Their stay was a short one but they managed to squeeze 4 albums out before finally throwing in the towel around 1993. Led by Dave Long the Dubliners were often pilloried for their likeness to Echo & The Bunnyman but they often saw fit to include some pretty House of Love moments also. In truth Long displayed a certain homage to Ian McCullough in his vocal delivery but if he was doing this today it’d be applauded rather than scoffed at. ‘Yesterday’s Men’ is taken from 1991’s ‘Churchtown’ and sounds remarkably fresh considering its elderliness. The guitars are instantly memorable yet it's Long’s fluid meanderings that are the most memorable aspect. This brings me back to grubby hoodies worn under lamplight as I pulled several all-nighters before the summer exams. KD

I had forgotten all about these guys. On the basis of this tune they're better than I remember them.
Hmmm. Never heard this before. Quite good, I think. Thanks much.
This band rocked in their time! Four albums and not one band tune! I still love listening to them to this day!
sorry - I meant not one BAD tune... my fingers aint what they used to be! :-)
