The King Blues - What If Punk Never Happened

Ok, enough already with all this Christmas music, we’ve got bigger fish to fry (love the season really but have to say that for dramatic effect to introduce this remarkable song). You’ll probably have gathered from my distinct attention to type that I don’t often take diversions off the indie rock highway but ‘What If Punk Never Happened’ is too big a distraction to ignore. It’s taken from London agit/punk collective the King Blues second album ‘Save The World, Get The Girl’. I’ve witnessed barely restrained anger like this before with Plan B but somehow the menace inherent in it’s grooves comes across as inspirational rather than disturbing, especially towards the tumultuous end. In fact I’m sure this could initiate a thousand bedroom rebellions were it to rightfully get the recognition its majesty deserves. Why have the clocks stopped. KD

love it
oh my god, truely fantastic album, rather different to 'under the fog' but equally as great if not better, since i bought the album on the day it was released ive listened to it pretty much none stop, if it were vinyl, it'd be burnt out by now. id advise anyone to buy this album, check out 'underneith this lamppost light, makes you feel warm inside... the final track 'what if punk never happened, breath takingly good, makes you really angry towards the govornment, truely fueled full of passion
the king blues are amazing. one of the most influential bands by far at the moment.
what if punk never happened is a proper anthem. itch has a way with words.
their billboard movement restored my faith in the human race.
xx
This is a fantastic record. Its ace glad to see a band with brains, activism and talent

The King Blues are hella rad - yes I just wrote that! I love them, infact I'm going to see them this week, so HA!
This song is probably the most inspirational of the year,
brings shivers down my spine still,
it gives the young bluds the hope they need,
in fighting for what they believe in,
The King Blues are legends!
this is an awesome album! hopefully it will help to inspire more of our generation to get up and help to improve the situation in this country. Long live the King Blues!
