Parenthetical Girls - Festive Friends (Forever)
Who’d have thought that the Parenthetical Girls and Christmas would have made such a wholesome partnership? Not me for one but over the course of 6 years the Portland act have released 3 festive missives. And surprisingly for the most part the songs are as quite as a mouse, not the noisy as a drunken party full of sailors that you’d expect. That’s the thing with PG (18, more like), you never quite know what their mood will dictate sonically. While their goods are always intriguing they are prone to dishing out tunes as mild tinnitus. ‘Festive Friends (Forever)’ however is about as perfect a tune as you’re going to hear with just a couple of days to go before the big one.
