Crouched low and staggering along as it does ‘He Kisses The Streets I Walk’ is just one of several albums worth of reasons to adore Ai Phoenix. On their 5th outing ‘The Light Shines Almost All The Way’ the Norwegian’s breath new life into the art of sounding melancholy while remaining heart creakingly tuneful. Could there be a more perfect Valentines soundtrack than the sound of a chanteuse cast amid a lonely synth and a wonderfully woven bassline? KD
