Analogue Turns One!
I like Analogue Magazine, not just because it is free but also because it is free spirited. It's quite obvious that its writers are fans first and foremost so are unlikely to be swayed by general consensus; the words rush from the heart as opposed to a preconceived notion as to what they believe people might like to read. It's a veteran going by the short lifespan of most Irish music magazines and it is celebrating its 1st birthday on Thursday evening in Twisted Peppar on Abbey Street. Entertainment on the night is by arch experimentalist Patrick Kelleher, intriguing newbies Villagers and (the I don’t have a clue who is) Spilly Walker. To get you in the mood here are some elderly people from Leeds who should know better but we pray they never do. KD

totally agree with your assessment of Analogue - picked up issues 6 and 7 when I was last in the Big Smoke and truly loved it - and I'm not usually a fan of print. So glad they're distributing more widely, so I'll be able to pick up my copy in Belfast soon enough!
